One of the ‘Big Five‘ boys’ story papers from D.C. Thomson, “The Wizard” featured illustrated stories of adventure, sports, schooldays, crime, science fiction and endless jokes. This paper ran from September 1922 for 1970 issues, the run ending in November 1963 and the heady mix of illustrated serials of many genres and regular free gifts ensured that there was always a good reason for boys to order their weekly copy.
