V.C.C.

So who was V.C.C.? Nobody seems to know. The company operated out of  71 Roman Road, London, E,3. in the early 1920s, but beyond that it’s anyone’s guess. Alan Jenkins did a little bit of research and came up with the following nugget: in 1915 the Vienna Candy Company were on Roman Road, London; he has no idea as to whether it’s the right company or not, but it looks like too much of a coincidence to not be correct, doesn’t it? Carl Wilkes on the other hand has done his own research and discovered that in the early 20th century the Vienna Candy Company was based in Ford Street and another separate company was in Roman Road. So it looks as though we still have some way to go to finding out exactly who V.C.C. really was!

However… it’s almost certain that the company actually used cards printed for them by London printers Hills & Lacy and you can see those cards here…
