The company of Clarke, Nicholls and Coombs – hence Clarnico – founded in Hackney Wick in 1872, produced confectionery items in the early part of the 20th century. As far as I can gather, they issued three sets: “Colonial Troops” (1900), “Wolf Cubs Signalling” (1910) and “Great War Leaders” (1915). The football set which is attributed to them appears anonymous and is not listed in Murrays catalogue but I include it here.
